Mumbai: State-run power producer NTPC, which is developing and operating the Pakri-Barwadih coal mine in Jharkhand, has for the first time appointed women to operate large dump trucks.The company, which has 12 female drivers operating these 100-tonne dump trucks, is currently training 13 more women for the job in Jamshedpur.
